thanks jill! mike borrowed my 85 prime last weekend, so i made him trade me his 24-70mm (both canon, both awesome lenses, but it wasn’t really that fair a trade for him).
i realized he forgot to take it back, so today i set the aperture wide open (2.8) and set about to the tulips. it just makes this gorgeous dreamy look.
By “made him trade” what Lorna means is that she called me up today, said, y’know, the lens just fell on her by accident, kind of stuck to her camera, and she just had to take pictures with it to make it stop.
I guess it worked though.
The magic of the 24-70 is how close it focuses, so you can do this kind of thing. Most lenses of this length can’t focus to 0.29 life-size.
