My worm was detained for questioning. By now, it is probably halfway to Guantanamo.

Kris, with the bristly bits, it sounds like you got a polychaete, maybe a <a href="http://www.teara.govt.nz/EarthSeaAndSky/SeaLife/MarineAnimalsWithoutBackbones/3/en" rel="nofollow">green ragworm</a>?

Today I filed a preliminary report with the Morbidity Department. That feels great. When you call, they say "You have reached the Los Angeles Department of Health Morbidity Department." Then they ask you about your symptoms.

Maybe the weirdest thing about all this is, yesterday I bought hiking boots. The last time I bought hiking boots is almost five years ago, nearly to the day. And that same night, that was the LAST time I was in an ER. Long story.

Hiking boots. There has to be some symbology there.

What does all this mean?

That is a very good story. Thank you. Will you please keep me posted on the details, especially concerning the dept o' health? Also, can you give me the symptoms? I'd love to hear all of the most horrifying details. What sorts of tests did they run, if any, at the ER? I have a guess or two as to what they'll have you do. I'm extremely interested! I only wish I were there.

This July, right before digging into a pile of raw oysters, I noticed a little green worm, maybe 3cm long, wriggling about inside the one in my hand. It was quite a wriggler. It looked like it might have little hairs or projections along its sides, to assist its wriggling.

The restaurant was not so happy to refund our money, since we had ordered up their last batch of oysters of the half shell. Those restaurant guys, they just said, "Well, we get them off the bottom of the ocean. What do you expect?"

Yes. Well. Maybe a rinse off would be good.

I've researched, trying to discover what sort of worm it might have been, but haven't been able to find anything conclusive.

It was a green the color of wasabi. The worm was smart enough to stay still when it noticed bright light.

Sometimes, I miss that little green worm, and I wish that I hadn't given it back to those people.
